Area Rug Plant Cleaning

Every area rug needs a good deep rug bath cleaning from time to time. It is part of household furnishings maintenance. When needed, we will pick up your are rug and transport it to our plant to be cleaned. Upon arrival, each rug is inspected by a trained eye. In the plant, the whole rug is completely visible and often customers are unaware of existing problems once covered by furniture and other large items. A carpet’s worst enemy is dry soil as they consist of small sharp, particles that sooner or later will wear through any rug. Rug are fed into a large beating machine which pounds, vibrates, and vacuums the entire rug while upside down so dirt and sand can fall out freely.
The next step is to pretreat stains. Some Common stains we’ve treated here range from wine, pet urine, blood, salt, ink, oil, fruit etc. We then pre-soak the rug with hundreds of gallons of soap flakes and warm water. The water is pumped onto each rug and rotary scrubbers go over each rug. The rugs are submerged and fed into a huge washing machine as soft brushes scrub every inch. First rinse followed by a bath and double rinse which totally flushes the rug. The last part is a wringer that squeezes the excess water out of the rug with 130 lbs of pressure. We then groom the pile, treat fringes, deodorize, etc. After grooming, each rug is hung on a pole and placed in the dry room. The room is heated to where the rugs dry in 2 to 4 hours. We also exhaust the humidity and circulate the air to control the drying time.
Once dried, the rug is sent to an inspection station. If need be, it is re-spotted, vacuumed, etc. If acceptable it is wrapped and readied for delivery back to the customer. However, if after inspection of your rug, if necessary, we will repeat this entire process again.
